Choose to be happy

My next door neighbour is an Indian girl. She is a good laugher and I like that.
Her nick name means “Friends” and she has always many friends around her. Most of them are Indians. Often I visit her room and chat and study together. She does not come to my room so often because she always has friends in her room.
On the board in her room, she put two piece of paper and wrote down the phrases “Choose to be happy” and “I can achieve my goal”. She said that many people laugh at her notes. She also has special notebook in which she write down phrased she comes across and like in her daily life. I do not laugh moreover I think it is nice.
Especially I like the note “Choose to be happy!”
So I copied that note and put on the board in my room. I did not tell her I did that because I am a bit shy.
Today she came to my room and found the note on the board.

Lost wrist watch

I lost my favourite wrist watch
When I woke up in the morning, I could not find but I remember I was wearing when I came back to my room so I lost it in my room. My room is so small and does not have much space to looking for.
It was my favourite.
I bought it when I travel to the NY with my friend and I bought it at 97.5% off.
I bought it at the price of $10 but it was originally $400 in FULA. (I bought it at a FULA shop so it is not a fake.) It is my winning good memory.
My friends might say that I should not be disappointed because it was $10. But it is my favourite and cute.

snowing and catching a cold

I refrain from going out and saying in my room.
The resaon is not only that it is too cold outside and snowing but I cathch a cold.
What a shame…(not heavy one just slight fever and headache)
But it is nice!
I found out I am enjoying catching a clod. Today, I made “Sogayu”, a Japanese traditional warm ginger drink especially for cold and drunk it. It was not bad at all!!
I feel exhausted and could not move around much so I read book on my bed with tea .
Cosy and warm
Happy!

HARAKIRI

I played tennis. I did not play for a long time.
I really like to run after the ball and enjoyed it. But I slip desperately and cut my berry on the ground. I was just a shallow injury and I did not care much and just wash and left it.
I was wearing white shirts and much blood was bleeding from the injury. My blood was on my shirts and it looked scary. For a while, I did recognized and left as it was.
I realized that this injury was annoying because the injury sticks to the shirts and I have to take it off and it hurts.
I have to make injury dry and to do that I need distance between shirt and my injury. I have not good ideas to generate the distance.
If you know that, let me know.

Parcels from Japan

I received parcels from Japan.
She is one of my closest friends and working as an architect in Nara in Japan.
She sent me Japanese food and things saying I might miss Japanese foods so much.
I received some parcels when I have special days such as birthday or Christmas.
In this month I do not have any celebration days so I do not expect anything. The gift without any reason makes me feel that she think of me in her usual days.

Letter from Tunisia

I travelled to Tunisia last summer with my friend.
We attended the Wedding party which was held in the hotel where we stayed.
Just by chance we chatted with a bride’s brother at the reception and he invited us tot the party.
We made friends with some girls there and swapped address and telephone numbers.
Girls are so cheerful and kind in Tunisia. I did not know that girls could be so cheerful and joyful.
Yesterday, my friend who went to Tunisia with me said that she got a letter from them. It is such exciting news to me and this day I was obsessed with Tunisian memories.

Suffolk

Last weekend I visited my English family in Suffolk.
So now I really feel contented and happy. My little English brothers and their dad and mum and their friends are all special to me.
What I like most is conversation with them.
I talked with my English father until one or two am after the supper by the big fire place. I like fire place because it smells so beautiful and looks stunning.
In my Japanese culture, I think we really do not have the custom of conversation. Maybe we try to understand each other without conversation. We have mono race and mono culture and mono language so we might not need conversation much.
I do not say Japanese custom is not good it is just another idea.
But I am now in UK and enjoying the custom of conversation.
I feel content now because of this visit.
Today, I attended two lectures in my Uni. I cannot stop smiling during the classes.
My teachers might think I was weird because I was smiling without any reason.

Something special

I have something special on Wednesday.
I go to London to listen to Jazz.
“Ronnie Scott’s”, this is the one of the popular jazz clubs in London. Actually I did not know jazz and this club either but I came across this jazz club by accident and started to love jazz and this club. I did not know that Jazz is like that and still I do not know.
For me it is like magic and makes me feel different.
I am in London 2100 to 2300, this two hours stay makes huge difference. It can be called magic. I’ve fallen love in with this magic. Now clerk man can recognize my face and name because I often visit.
Next morning, when I wake up and eat toast with honey, I can smell and taste honey more than usual. The magic effect still remains slightly in the morning.

To my friends
“Ronnie Scott’s” offers students concessions from Mon to Wed.
And because of the rebuilding, they will be closed after until 13th May. If you are interested in going, you need to be hasty. It makes me a bit disappointed but never mind!

Sport club

One of my friends recently joined a sport club and took me there as a guest.
I am not interested in joining the sports club because I think running on the machine is boring and I would not go there often if I join it. Actually, when I was in Japan, I joined one but I did not go at all and just wasted money and that made me feel bad.
I found out some difference between Japanese sport club and the one my friend took me today. The pool was righted up in the blue colour and made people relax and the swimming wears are more casual. Most girls ware bikini and nobody wear hat and swimming glasses.
At Japanese sport clubs, people never wear bikinis there and have to put swimming hats and goggles compulsory otherwise some staff would take us out. People swims eagerly and do not talk much because they come to swim. If people really just want to swim, Japanese club are perfect, I think.

Policeman

I sometimes work at the charity shop as a volunteer.
A Policewoman sometimes comes to our shop and asks us if there is a problem or not. I remember her face.
I remember when she came to our shop.
She came to our shop wearing police uniform and came to me and asked to keep a small bag for her. She said she wanted to buy the bag for her daughter as a Christmas present but she was on her duty at the time and could not take the bag.
The manager of the shop promised to her to keep the bag for her.
Officially, she was not supposed not to do shopping during her duty.
She often visited our shop when she was on her duty after that. Although she did not purchase anything after that but she looked around the products usually.
I think she likes our shop.
I remember her face and I hope she remembers my face.
To have some people in the town whose faces I know is nice! I feel it is like a soap opera.
People know each other and meet by chance at some shops and the problems are happened!!

British History Book

Today I have got a small British History Book at the charity shop where I work.
When I was at the till with Joy who always teach me many things we talked about the English royal family. She said that her favourite Queen is Elizabeth first and told me about her a bit. She said that she want to make sure the time of her and look for some books on the shelves.
We sometimes have history dictionaries which were donated.
She found a tiny little history dictionary and we talked about British history based on the book such as about William first and Henry eighth.
I think this book is so perfect for me. At first, it is small. Secondly it is cheap, only 1.5 pounds. So I bought that book.
This book makes me fell so contented.
In addition to it, today I have got a new phrase “lead you astray” which mean that you are provided many bad but useful skills.

Sri Lancan curry

Today, I attended the exercise of my uni’s lady’s football club. I have got a team sweater today which have my initials on it. I am so happy to have it.
My team mates are all authentic English girls and they chat cheerfully.
Unfortunately, I can not understand their English well so it is difficult to join the conversation. I think girl’s talking is one of the most technical ways of speaking because when I chat with my Japanese girl friends, we use many technical words and phrases in Japanese. Technical words also have diverse of kinds such as for food and cosmetic things and recent books for girls.
But I decided to continue to try to be a part of them. Sometimes, I feel I am out of them because I could not understand but I will continue to try!!
And after playing the football, I dropped in my friend’s house. In this house, there are around 5 people and I have two classmates there. One is a girl from Sri Lanca and the other is a boy from Greece.
She is my good chatting friend and he is my salsa friend.
I often visit this house because her room is so homey and comfortable.
Today, she made Sri Lancan curry for me. It was so nice.
I am Japanese and the most famous Japanese dish is Sushi. So I am asked to make cook Sushi by my friends sometimes. To tell the truth, Japanese people do not eat such so often and we usually eat it only at the restaurants.
We have other kinds of nice dishes but not famous internationally.
These days I am doing practice to make that other kinds of dishes. I think I will practice them in their house and serve them.
By the way, can you eat pork, Wibi?
