Tomoko's Blog

Originally I made this blog to communicate with with my friends I made with in London . I arrived in London at 14th April 2005 and this is my start studying here. I like computer staff and would like to develop knowledge in that field . I am getting some knowledge from my friends who are so much in that field. So I would like to try what I get and put them on this blog which is useful and understandable for non computer expert person besides my personal diary.

Tokyo Linux user’s group/ comouter

Tokyo Linux user’s group/ comouter

One month ago, I attend Tokyo Linux user’s group meeting.
This meeting is just for people who like linux and share this happiness.
They hold the meeting at Amazon office in Tokyo. One of them is employee of Amazon and he asked his company to give us a room for some hours at weekend.
I will write about that.

Well, the meeting is something too technical things.
I could not really follow but stimulating.
I have small knowledge about kernel and Linux and some command on console windows.
There I listened to the presentation about XEN and the article “Windows is free” they made.

I am currently using Mepis Linux at my home.

Monkey Python

One on my friends said that when he feel sad he watch the DVD, Monkey Python.
And he felt into sleep laughing.
I think it is a incredibly genius idea. I have never watch Monkey Payton though.
So I would like to down load and watch to prepare my hard time.

It is really nice to have strategy for the difficulties.
If you have any strategy, let me know please such as how to make laugh the people who never smile or how to continue study when you find it boring.

Belgium pub

one of my frieds' friends opened Belgium pub in Tokyo.
Delilium is the name of the pub. http://www.deliriumcafe.jp/
Pink elepant is the simble of the pub. I do not really know why pink elepant is the embple.
And I attend their opeing party and ejoy free drink there.
I think I should take my friends there so that I can pay back to them in someway.
Belgium beer is quite strong. I think around 14% alcholoe. It is same as wine.

So actually I can just drink one there.
Nice nice time , I had there.
If you are intersted in, I recommend this pub!!!

Chrismas coming

The town start to look different for Christams.
We can find nice cards and decoration at the shops.

So today, I purchsed some Christmas cards and went to the cafe to write.
I would like to send nice Christmas cards to London which looks different from cards in UK.
It took me two hours to buy just two Chrismas cards.
Well, I am going to send more but I think more cards are coming so I should not buy all what I need.
I went to the cafe "afternonn tea". Before I went to London I thought "afternonn tea" is Biristh company but I never find them in London.
I purchase waffle and hot chai there.

since I started to work here, this small ralxing time might be my best time.
Well, I would like to play chess with one of my friends here over a cup of chai.

To be honest, recently, I do not have many friends here even to talk over a cup of coffee.
I hope I will get nice friends.
(I do not say, I do not have friends at all here though. So please do not get angry if you are one of my friends who live in Tokyo. Maybe I called you but you were busy.)

Church

Sunday, I attend the morning session at the Chuch in Tokyo.
It was my first time to attend the Church after I came back to Japan.

I felt a bit trable in my adjusting myself to the current invironment.
Severeal month have already passed since I start to be here again and work.

And I went to the church to pray.
(Well, plese do not misunserstand and so do not worry about me!!
I am ok an happy here. )
There all people have quite good command of english. I think sicne I have beein in London for two years, my English is not bad and enough to communicate.
Japanese people there have better English than me.
