Socialization

socialization is always important topic.
Especially when you move to a new place or your change your life style from a student to a worker.
All people need good friend and socialized in a good way.
I do remember my mother also have difficulty in socialization after she moved from the southern part of Japan to Tokyo away from her all relatives and old friends. Since in Tokyo people are not so open minded. Japan is a small country however we still have much difference in areas.
I was brought up in Tokyo and work so thing have some knowledge to be socialised.
However still I need to make my way to be socialized and it is not that easy since here in Tokyo we do not have useful culture such as partying or talking to people casually.
Here I would like to describe a bit how I am doing for this.

Firstly I attend Church often. I make some close Japanese female friends. Going Church is important for me. I can feel calm and contend if I attend. Sometimes I do not attend for while and feel anxious. I can listen the preach as well as live music which is quite hard to find in Japan.
I remember we can find many live music in UK. It is not like that here.
Secondly I am attending TLUG. It is a technical meeting for Linux users. I really want to have good command of technical things. I am struggling and can not see the direction. Important thing is that I am really enjoying although I am lost often in the technical meeting. I made nice geek friend there.
I only attend technical meeting which is only once every two month.
Thirdly I started to attend book club. I find the meeting quite cosy and love it. Most of us are western woman (which I am not ) and some are not. I find something warm atmosphere here.
Maybe these three are the things I consider my constant activities.

I do not think my way is the typical Japanese socialised way. I do not even have an idea how standard Japanese are socialized. Maybe tomorrow I will ask my colleagues. I am quite sure they are well socialized.

I tried may other things and found those are not for me.
For example I attended wine tasting event. It was not bad but I do not think I will attend again.
Since I have chances to drink on business so I thought it is nice if I have basic knowledge in Wine. Drinking is important culture in Japan like it is in UK. I guess it might be slightly different way though. I did not enjoyed this meeting however I have some information about restaurants which have nice wine at the reasonable price from other attendance. I will try them out.

I also attend something called “laugher Yoga”. I do not think I will attend again.
I do not remember much things there.
What else did I do? I do not remember....

At the moment, I would like to add activities which is more outdoor or sports. I am attending company tennis club. We only have the meeting once a month and it is midnight.

Here I would like to put some links which you might find useful. If you have good information, please share with me.
